“it just fits” extends a culmination of learnings from Elicser Elliott’s experience as an inaugural fellow with Wildseed’s Black Arts Fellowship. The program offers a supportive space for deep, collaborative and playful exploration in community. That sense of being supported became a source for thematic inspiration for Elliott’s wall tattoo. Nestled into their kin, the smallest figure is held close by their community, feeling “okay to rest because there are people watching over them.” Contained by comfort, “it just fits” explores all the possibilities that come with having the freedom to be your full self.
Elicser Elliott and Danillo Deluxo will be creating a new mural together in the building. We also have a new and exciting installation by Charmaine Lurch in the works as well. We’re excited to share these updates with you all.
