Writing New Worlds: Liberation Library Launch In Person Event

Wildseed Centre / Library

Apr 27, 2024

Black communities have always utilized storytelling as a means to connect, preserve, and imagine new worlds. Anchored by those values, Wildseed Centre is proud to introduce Liberation Library and invite you to our launch event!

Both a program and space within the Centre, our Library offers free Black-authored books and literary resources for our community. All books that are part of the library are free and we encourage you to “take one, leave one”.

Join us on April 27th from 1:30 – 4:00 for “Writing New Worlds: Liberation Library Launch”!

Presented in partnership with Festival of Literary Diversity, this launch celebration will involve a panel discussion and guided visioning session. Moderated by Jes Annan, panellists Téa Mutonji and Matthew R. Morris will explore Black writers’ craft and their experiences in publishing. Attendees will also be invited to co-determine Liberation Library’s program offerings for readers and writers alike. Books written by the panellists will be available for purchase. Free snacks and refreshments will be provided, and prizes are available to be won!

Please RSVP below. We hope to see you there!
