One:Many Fall Exhibition Call for Submissions In Person Exhibition
Wildseed Centre / Gallery
Jun 12, 2024 — Jul 11, 2024
“One:Many” is Wildseed Centre’s Fall Exhibition, which seeks to allow space for a solo or group multidisciplinary exhibition to celebrate, contemplate and/or engage with the 10-Year Anniversary of the Black Lives Matter movement in so-called-Canada. Mid-career and/or established Black artist(s) and Curator(s) working in community-informed practices are invited to submit proposals to present new work(s) in Wildseed Centre’s Gallery, located at 24 Cecil Street in Toronto, Ontario.
The Jury is seeking submissions that reflect on movement(s), both literal and figurative. This may include the past 10 years of Black liberation efforts on these lands; present opportunities/challenges of our conditions; and/or microcosms of future worlds we are working toward. One that is not only rooted in Afro-Global solidarity within and beyond Canada, Congo, Haiti, Palestine, Sudan or otherwise. But also, transformative futurities in which we share a commitment of liberation for all oppressed peoples.
We will be hosting an information session on June 25th, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. ET. ASL interpretation will be provided.
Presented with support from Canada Council for the Arts.
